'make' command not found

Now before I continue I will say that I have been searching the internet as well as this forum but have not been able to find a definiable answer to my problem.

While it seems to be a somewhat common problem at times, I cannot seem to remedy it. Using 'swaret' to upgrade, install and update Slackware components I have made sure I have the latest packages of 'make', 'gcc', and 'glibc' which through my newbie research is needed to use the 'make' command, yet it still does not work. I don't know what else to try or do.

Any help would be greatly apprecaited as I need this command to 'make menuconfig' for my kernel.

EDIT - Nope, still doesn't work. The command is there but now I am getting a bunch of script errors when I attempt to 'make menuconfig'.

I think I'm just going to reinstall Slack and try again.

Do you have the kernel-source package installed?
You must install it first and then go to /usr/src/linux to run make menuconfig.
Pls note that you must install the kernel-source that matches your kernel version and that swaret by default does not upgrade your kernel related packages.
