Mail question

I have cron that automatically backup my files. Everytime backup is run, it sends me an email. Is there any way I can stop cron from sending me email? and also how do I delete email using gnu "mail" program? Thanks in advance

To stop cron from mailing you the results of your backup just append

Code:
 > /dev/null 2>&1
to the appropriate line in your crontab, this will redirect all the output to /dev/null instead of mailing it.

You can delete mail in the "mail" program by pressing "d".

I am just beginning to appreciate the usefulness and power of /dev/null.

Looks like I am not such a Linux geek after all. Or, just call me newbie.
