You can't mount audio cds, you just play them. If you really need to mount a cd, you need to patch a kernel with cdfs support.

Audacious was working, its not now. Sorry I don't mean the audio disk doesn't mount I meant it does not automatically appear on desktop when I enter it in the cdrom drive, while if I inject a data CD it appears automatically on desktop as it should.

When I open Audacious the CD Track # appears but when I click on play I get the following error:

Unable to play files.
The following files could not be played. Please check that:
1. they are accessible.
2. you have enabled the media plugins required.

So where and which are the media plugins and how do I enable them?

Sorry I was not clearer.

In the mean time can someone post a copy of their Xine Config ... I'd rather try getting xine to work if possible for watching video tutorials. Thanks

Found a backup Audacious config file I guess created when it stopped working. I deleted the current one
ran xine-check everything seem to be alright except xine asked me to configure a dvd drive but I only have a cdr rw...
The CD still does not appear on my desktop - but I was able to play a music cd from Audacious File Menu,
Xine just freezes and I have to shut it down from terminal. A copy of someone's xine config file would really be instructional if you are using Xfce. Thanks
