Looking for PHP.5.2.12 for Slackware.12.2
 

Does anyone know how to find PHP.5.2.12 released for Slackware.12.2 ?

I recently upgraded to PHP.5.3.23 as pacthes lists, only to find out that it breaks a number of PHP software installed on my machine. So, I'm looking for a way to revert to the old version.

You shoud to build them from sources. Use the php-5.2.13 from Slackware-13.1: ftp://slackware.osuosl.org/pub/slack.../source/n/php/. Remember that you should be modify SlackBuild to appropriate version of php and package type - Slackware 13.0 and higher uses the xz compression for packages and these compression does not supported by Slackware-12.2. Enjoy.

Reinstall the PHP packages from here, no need to rebuild...

[EDIT]OOPS - I see this is 5.2.8, you will need to build 5.2.12 as mentioned above.[/EDIT]

You can easily rebuild the tar package using the original slackbuild from the source tree.

I have upgraded Slackware 12.1 to tar 1.26 without problem.

Just be sure to upgradepkg and do not uninstall/reinstall!

That makes everything work with the new package formats and saves some frustrations as long as you keep the older Slackware versions going!

@yars: I didn't think of using the SlackBuild from subsequent releases. That might work. Thanks.

In addition, according to UPGRADE.TXT in the Slackware 13.0 file tree, you may just upgrade pkgtools, tar and install xz packages directly, without rebuilding (if the dependencies are is met) and it makes installing/reinstalling/upgrading/removing the txz packages without any problems. But it possibly if you use Slackware 12.2, not 12.1, else you should be rebuilt these packages before.
