Post Logout = Blank Screen(Black)

Last night on nov 6 2008, when I logged out of xfce, my screen went blank as in black. My laptop was still on, mouse lights up, but screen was all black. Ctrl+alt backspace or delete didn't work. I couldn't do anything else and so I held down the power button to shutdown the machine. This only happens sometimes when it's up for 8+ hours. Here is my xorg log file. I have the log file for Nov 7th too, just ask and I'll post it up. Also, I'm using the i810 driver and 915resolution BIOS hack.

# NOTE: This is a NEW IMPROVED version of XF86Config-fbdev that uses the vesa
# driver instead of the fbdev driver. Thanks to Kenneth Fanyo who pointed
# this out to me. :)

# This XF86Config file is designed for use with the VESA framebuffer.
# This generic interface should work with nearly all video cards
# (although not every card will support every resolution).

# With the new driver, it should no longer be required to have frame buffer
# support in the kernel, or to run it on the console.
#
# Enjoy! :)

Ok I think I found the fix for this. I updated to gdm 2.20.7 with slackbuilds but the problem still persisted. So I edited gdm's config file(custom.conf) and I added this under [daemon]
Code:
AlwaysRestartServer=true
Then I restarted gdm with gdm-restart. So far it's been a few days and my laptop's uptime is usually above 8+hours. The blank black screen doesn't appear upon logout or standby mode anymore. I just hope it can stay that way. Also note that this is specifically under:
Code:
Slackware 12.1
2.6.24.5-smp
xfce 4.4.2
Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device
915resolution
i810 driver
gdm 2.20.7
