Logitech USB Keyboard and mouse freeze after 60 mins. Why?

Hi, I am new to linux but learning. I have Slack 10.2 running 2.6.14.2 kernel. My problem is that my Logitech cordless keyboard & MX700 mouse work fine then freeze after exactly 60 mins. I have no option then but to hit the reset button. I also have a Speedtouch 330 USB modem and a USB printer so I originally thought the problem was related to USB overload but the timing is too exact. I have upgraded the kernel a few times with the same problem. Anyone any ideas?
I have an Asus AV78X mobo, Athlon XP 2200+, 512 PC2700 which dual-boots XP Home with out a hitch. Thanks

use "xorgconfig" by root for a try and select the suitable choice when configuring.

Hi, Thanks for your replies.
I started to think more along the lines of power management and checked that ACPI was not part of my kernel. It wasn't, so I then checked the power management settings in my BIOS and changed them all to OFF/Disabled. I am happy to say I have been logged on to Slack for over 2 hours now without a freeze so, fingers crossed, I think it must be sorted.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

Not sure, as I said I am new to linux. The changes I made in the BIOS were,
under the POWER section,
Power Management- changed from, Min Saving >> Disabled
Video Off Option- changed from, Suspend-> Off >> Always On
ACPI Suspend to Ram- changed from, Enabled >> Disabled

I think the relevant part of my /boot/.config file is

#
# Power management options (ACPI, APM)
#
# CONFIG_PM is not set

#
# ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) Support
#
# CONFIG_ACPI is not set

To my limited knowledge this should ensure no support for power management in the kernel but some how the BIOS was allowed to send a signal to the input devices and tell them to halt. I could be miles off track for all I know.

Note-Perhaps this post should be moved to a more general forum as I now don't think it is Slackware specific
