So I made a big mistake when I was in a hurry to install windows. I made a stupid assumption that windows would see linux during the install and ask to install the boot loader as most linux distros do. (Yeah I know big stupid assumption haha). Anyway this is the setup... I have Windows XP Pro installed on /dev/sda1 and Slack64 13.1 on /dev/sdb1. Unfortunately I have Windows boot loader now installed to the MBR so booting to /dev/sdb doesn't allow me to load to linux. I've been googling how to fix this problem but keep coming up with answers that rely on the ability to boot into linux. So does anyone know of a way that I can dual-boot without reinstalling linux?
you can use your slackware cd and then type 'hugesmp.s root=/dev/sdb1 rdinit= ro' to boot to your slackware partition
after that, you can reinstall lilo using root account
After booting with the install CD/DVD to your installed system via 'hugesmp.s root=/dev/sdb1 rdinit= ro'. Run 'pkgtool' to re-run setup to choose the script for liloconfig.
