loading problem

I have a Slackware 9.1 system. A lot of people say that linux(in text mode) loads more faster than Windows. I customized my Slack so it runs well(2.6.1 kernel, KDE 3.2), I disabled some services because I need Slackware as a workstation; I had left just cupsd and inetd; What inetd does? Do I need it? After all these changes Linux loads in 15 seconds until I get “Going multiuser” and after that until I can login(in text mode) 45 seconds; So it starts in 60 seconds. Isn’t that much? Windows loads in 40 seconds. (I have an Athlon XP 2000+ with 250 MB of RAM). What do I have to configure to make it loads faster?

Thanks!

for christ sake man, this really isn't something you've gotta think about think optimization!

but for the record: yeah, alittle slow. mine's faster, and I have them services enabled.

I got 1ghz, 768 mb ram, ddr - 333, and a 1.5 swap disk, if it matters, lol...

dude, you missunderstood... I didn't mean like that, I mean like... it's supposed to be stable and such doesn't matter if the start up's alittle slow!
