Question loading of providers from file: http://download.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml failed

I'm currently running Slackware64 -Current- With latest KDE .This problem occurs when I'm trying to download a system settings add-on. For ex. "my subject". The error is when I try and download a Color Scheme, Icon, Desktop theme. I'm sure all of you get the point. This is driving me crazy not knowing how to fix it. I'm some what good with Slackware, just not good enough lol. By the way, I have Googled this error and didn't have any luck. Please help.

I just tried it then and it works fine.

Since this is an Internet enabled feature I suggest you try it again and make sure you don't have any funny proxies interfering with your Internet connection.

Thanks for your reply back

I guess I need to do a little more digging around. It only seems to happens sometimes. Is by any chance maybe I'm connected to a bridged repeater?

Possible fix

On MX Linux 17 I encountered the same error having installed KWin via Synaptic Package Manager. After some digging, I launched the Window Manager Settings via the terminal:
Code:
/usr/bin/kcmshell5 --icon preferences-system-windows kwindecoration kwinactions kwinfocus kwinmoving kwinadvanced kwinrules kwincompositing kwineffects kwintabbox kwinscreenedges kwinscripts
. In the terminal I found a couple messages referring to programs it couldn't launch when I clicked Get New Decoartions.... After I read online about the messages I installed kwin-cli-tools and later kinit and kded5 via Synaptic Package Manager.

I no longer have the issue.
