Loading Linux at boot takes much time

Everytime I enter here I forgot to post this issue, now maybe you can help me...

I have a notebook with Slackware 10.1 installed on it, and every boot after Lilo screen it goes to the Loading Linux ..... what looks like that its decompressing the kernel .... but this takes very long time, about 10-15 seconds, and I have noticed that this problem doesnt occur in many other computers, at least not on desktops, im saying this because a friend of mine who have a notebook too have the same issue....

Ok, if anyone noticed anything like this or can help me please post.

Laptop HDDs have always been slow.

Depending on the age and the hardware in the laptop, the delay could simply be the result of the HDD's speed in loading the compressed kernel.

no no , the problem was with the compact, I mean, the fault of it... ;D

I have a reasonable HD on my notebook, not an old one, now with the compact the loading has gone and is like I want
