Loading from CD to 220 gig disk, fdisk will not write.

The motherboard is an ASUS P5KPL-AM SE. The operating system is Windows XP on the first partition. I have created a second partition of 2.14 gig, and a third patition of 113.2 gigs. The last two are empty for Linux
Loading Slackware from CD to the 220 gig disk fdisk gives a message that it will not write and does not.
Disk was formatted but Slackware CD1 still could not write to the disk nor could it reformat either of the 2nd or third partition, it still gave the message that it will not write.
I am wondering if the disk is just too big?

What does it mean? Did you run your machine using first Slackware CD and started installation using setup command? Or maybe you tried to copy files from some Slackware CD to an unformatted partition?
