I don't want to break the law, if that's what it would be to have an "unofficial" copy, but a friend of mine gave me a CD with a bunch of Linux-books on it.

So, everyone, please forgive me if I was out of line on this forum.

I meant only to help anyone that I am able to.

Peace, BC

Thanks for your help. I think im going to get Running Linux, that should be enough (and hopefully more) to get me on the net. From there i will have a nice resource at my disposal.

Thanks again for all of your help. I will be back on here, if sucessful ill try to help others, if not then i will be asking for help. This is going to be quite an adventure.

My suggestion for a book is "Running Linux" by the O'Reily Group.
I bought this book along with RedHat 6.0 several years ago and it is a great book. I was just reading it last night. Anyway, I have the 2nd edition. How outdated is it? Would the 4th edition be worth buying?

Hey BearClaw, i'm also going to ask of you a favor. I am also a Linux beginner and have d/l'ed several free e-books. But, everyone is suggesting the one in your hands. Do you think you could email me a copy as well? SirLancelotX@hotmail.com

By the way, if not then can you ask your friend where he gets these free Linux books?

Thanks,
Lance
