Linux Mac

ok I really have 2 questions... Neither really have to do with Slackware but this is really the only forum I post in so hopefully someone can help me. Here's the deal...
I have a computer that is my boyfriend's but I'm wanting to play around with it. Only thing is, It's a MAC(:-\). I know absolutely NOTHING about Macs. I'm wanting to put Linux on it but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've heard that Yellow Dog and Gentoo are distros for Macs.. but I'd like to get some input on what people think I should do.. Right now I'm not on my pc.. this one is running WinXP, but it's the only one that has the internet right now. I'd like to d/l a MacLinux distro on this computer and go from there. If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. Now, my second question might be a little stupid but like I said, I know nothing about Macs. Tomorrow I'm going to network this computer and my computer(running Slack9.0), so I can get a connection to the internet. I want to network the Mac as well, so my question is... how would I go about doing this....? It has no visable NIC... I've not taken a look inside, but....? I have no idea where to start... If someone could help I'd be eternally grateful... thanks in advance

Ash

First of all, what is the version of your mac os? Second what Mac do you have? As in PowerPC G3, PowerPC G4 etc. even in those catagories there is a few variations.
Unless your Mac (hw) is very old, I would think that it should come with a build in ethernet "card".
You said you want to network Mac, I would assume you want to have internet access on Mac. Well, that would be based on your S9.0. You can set it up as a router or use NAT or etc.
As for mac side, you just need to configure the IP add, the gateway and the dns if needed.

I'm not sure how old it is.. all I know is it's not newer than 95. All I know about it is it's a Performa 6116CD System software is 7.5.1... I don't have the internet on the MAC... I can set my MAC up as a router? Maybe I should get a book on running a MAC b/c I know absolutely nothing about them..
