Linux Live cd question
If i choose to use a live cd just to test will it change anything on my computer?
Thanks, simmi |
No, not on its own. That's kinda the point.
You can use a live CD to make changes to your system -- say if you've messed up a kernel or a configuration file and your system won't boot. Most live CDs will mount the hard drive(s) read-only, if at all. |
Correct - the only way using a Live CD could change data on your hard drive is if you intentionally do so. By default, although you can view existing data on your drives, nothing will be written.
