Linux Foundation and 20 Years of Linux - Slackware Mention

The Linux Foundation's timeline on the 20 years of Linux includes Slackware!

Yeah. Good. It's about time Slackware got some credit and recognition, instead of all the usual dismissive/negative reviews.

volkerdi 04-07-2011 03:09 PM

Wow!

Nice find rmjohnso.

I hope that Pat be able to hold Slackware's helm at least for the twenty years to come - then B. C. V. will be able to take over.

Of course I am assuming that BDFL is a hereditary.

Praise "Bob"!
There's a short 20th birthday video, too. But it's no good 'cause it doesn't mention Slack. :tisk:

Congratulations, Mr. Volkerding! :D

And in the beginning was Slackware!

Too right - although to be honest I think Slackware does get quite a lot of credit and recognition - especially with proper "Linux-heads".
To anyone interested in the history of the linux distros this timeline gives a good idea - it's what made me first decide on Slackware as my introduction to Linux quite a long time ago - thankfully the right choice for once.

I could not find myself on the timeline!
Does it mean that I'm not famous?
