linux-2.6.11.7 won't compile

Hi All,

I'm having problem with compiling the 2.6.11.7 kernel. First time, the mesage below was displayed after i ran "make install" and second time, it was shown after the "make" command:

/bin/sh: line 1: cmp: command not found
Inconsistent kallsyms data
Try setting CONFIG_KALLSYMS_EXTRA_PASS
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1

Is this solvable?
Where is "CONFIG_KALLSYMS_EXTRA_PASS" and what do i have to set it to?

Thanks

If you are using "make menuconfig" it is the very last option in General Setup

Turn off >> [ ] Configure standard kernal features (for small systems)

Your kernel should build then.
