If your looking for a kernel image in /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot, your not likely to find one.

Should I be sending bug reports into Pat himself? These sorts of posts here seem to go un-noticed and therefore un-fixed....

Hm, that patch has been applied in piterpunk's and mine updates to the lilo package (just over a year ago) when I was working on Slackware64, but apparently it was never picked up by Pat :-(
