I appreciate your help Erik_Fl. I'm now typing this from Slack-12. I don't know how to make the changes to resolv.conf without rebooting but I changed resolv.conf and rebooted and now it works. Thanks.
Now to change the BIOS to boot to the sata drive 1st and finish moving things (i.e. music files) over to the sata drive and figure out how to dual boot. I'll be using the ide drive as a testing ground.

It's been a few years since I last put Slackware on my system. At least now I can see the difference in using my dual core processor using Slack-12 w/ the hugesmp.s kernel.
I look forward to hear from you Erik about the best way to setup my bios.
