Did you create a new lilo when you installed slack?

LILO begins running from the MBR and in order to finish running correctly, it will need access to the native Linux partition (where the rest of LILO is located). If LILO can't access the rest of itself, an error like the one above will be displayed due to the native
from here.

Please, post your partitions information (you can see it if you boot into cd2 and enter rescue console, do
cfdisk /dev/hda
cfdisk /dev/hdb
cfdisk /dev/hdc
cfdisk /dev/hdd

For each of those:
- if it complains about error and just exits go to next.
- if you see a table of entries, choose print > to screen. And post the results here.

Better, if instead of cfdisk you could use fdisk.(Use q for exit, not w)(Use p to print the partition table) This way is much cleaner, I get what i want and there is less to re-type

If you get a chance, find a way to list contents of your /etc/lilo.conf (not from rescue disk, from /dev/hd*, where hd* is a HD partition, if you guess which and how to mount it.)
