Smile Lilo boots wrong kernel?

Ok, here's what's going on....

I installed the huge26.s kernel when I installed Slack 11, (a freash install). Everything was fime, I even installed the 2.6.17.13 modules and all was well for two days.

I installed lilo in the MBR on the Linux drive, (I read somewhere here that it was alright to do so despite the disclaimer in setup that it might be dangerous), I'm using hot swap bays to switch between XP and Linux. Today when I put the linux drive iiin, lilo says "The linux kernek is big..(then some numbers0, but will not boot. It just stopps.

However, I have lilo on a floppy from a previous instal of the 2.4.33 kernel. I can boot the 2.6 kernel with the floppy, but in the text, I can see that it's loading stuff for the 2.4.33 kernel. As best I can tell, everything is working....but I'm not that deep into Linux yet....

The drive will not boot without the floppy, and even then it's not booting the kernel I installed.

How can I get lilo onto a floppy to boot huge26.s kernel? Or, alternately, is there a way to fix the lilo or kernel already in place in the drive?

To make a new booteable floppy: /sbin/makebootdisk
To fix lilo on the drive: /sbin/liloconfig

once you boot into your machine, by the above method, please install the alternate kernel again http://rkrishna.tp.googlepages.com/slackerbasics#alt

check lilo, run "/sbin/lilo" or simply "lilo"

Thanks. I've bookmarked that page so I can reference it.

I've fixed it.....and LILO is no longer in the MBR. I put it on floppy....
