Libvirt default network

Code:
 virsh net-list --all
When I start virsh as root it sees the 'default' network
when I start virsh as a normal user the 'default' network is not found
I have modified
/etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/50-org-libvirt-access.pkla
as follows
Code:
[Libvirt Management Access]
 Identity=unix-group:users;unix-user:john
 Action=org.libvirt.unix.manage
 ResultAny=yes
 ResultInactive=yes
 ResultActive=yes
From everything I read this should allow user john to run virsh, which it does but the default network is not available
Qemu and Libvirt were both default builds from Sbo.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
The network in a windowsxp guest works, but no network in a slackware guest using an identical network definition in the libvirt xml file.

Adding this to my .bash_profile did not help
Thanks
John
