Question libvga.so.1 suddenly vanished, mplayer complains

Hello!
I am running Slackware Linux 11.0. Until yesterday I could use both my mplayer and vlc players. Today, to my surprise, they both fail to start, complaining:
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libvga.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

vlc: [00000315] main interface warning: cannot load module `/usr/lib/vlc/gui/libwxwidgets_plugin.so' (libvga.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)

I have no idea what could have happened. I also tried to install the http://www.svgalib.org/svgalib-1.4.3.tar.gz, but vainly, I always gat mistake during "make install".

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Probably I should reinstall some library, which for some reason has been overwritten?

Regards,
Martin

Overwritten? Unlikely? Deleted, probably.
Try re-installing the svgalib package for Slackware 11.0: http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackwar...4.3-i386-2.tgz is a direct link.

Yes, thank you very much, that worked. I noticed that 4 files from the svgalib package had vanished from the old installation, among them the file libvga.so.1. I have no idea how this could have happened.
