This is from a clean install. I haven't seen it reported as a known issue on the Slackware site (of course, I could just be overlooking it).
I tried to see if I could get away with just renaming the subdirectory under /lib/modules to 2.6.13 and creating a symlink to it. After that, I tried to install the ieee80211 subsystem and the penguin said something about my mother, a bull, and a group of midgets before the make util stopped abruptly.
I need a 2.6+ kernel in order to enable support for ipw2100 - I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but is there some alternative to this other than building a new kernel?
yes, there is a package for the kernelmodules that is not auto-installed.
i think it's in /extra/.... ( where the 2.6 kernel is...) on the cd.
install that and you'll be ok.

HAHAHA
Now I've got coffee in my nasal cavities.
Thanks.

I noticed that too. I guess Pat is of the opinion that if you know enough to want a 2.6 kernel, you'll know what to do. It would be nice to have the "modules" package upgraded if you choose the 2.6 kernel though. Having said that, the "test26.s" kernel has a LOT of stuff built in. Much more than the 2.6 kernel in the "testing" package.
