letsencrypt script for slackware-current

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a standalone letsencrypt command line script in bash/tcsh or similar that works with slackware64-current please?

I don't use letsencrypt often and now that I need it to update my certs I find it is broken.
I created letsencrypt v0.2.0 with sbopkg a while ago, probably when v14.2 was released but updates in slackware64-current have broken both sbopkg and letsencrypt so I would like to have a standalone script version of letsencrypt that has much less dependencies.
I have tried https://calomel.org/lets_encrypt_client.html but could not get it to work. The script drops out after "+ Request challenge for domain.." and does not finish.

Thanks Michael

you may need to recompile all perl-* deps for letsencrypt due to python being compiled using UCS-4 instead of UCS-2.
That should make your letsencrypt works again

there's another project called dehydrated which is a standalone system.

Thanks willysr, I have installed dehydrated and it runs so I will attempt to update my certs
