i've compiled a custom 2.6.10 kernel, and i'm having a weird problem with less. if i try to use less, it just exits without an error. like:

severian@lightstar $ less /etc/lilo.conf
severian@lightstar $

i see the content flash by for a split second, and it's gone. no errors. but i DO get errors when i try to read man pages:

severian@lightstar $ man top
Error executing formatting or display command.

which is very strange. i thought it had to do with framebuffer support, but i've compiled it in and left it out, and neither seems to affect the problem. any ideas?

if you have a stock Slack-10.0, just upgrade the " udev " package to the newest. ( 10.1 )
( get it on Slackware.org )
