Latest aalib breaks mplayer

I just installed the latest packages. mplayer returns:

Quote:

mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libaa.so.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Latest packages included aalib-1.4rc5-i486-4.txz but no new mplayer.

Is the problem here that Slackware has mistakenly put the 64-bit aalib package in the non-64?

I think it's the same problem that xine-lib, aalib need rebuilt with this fedora patch:

I see aaa_elflibs is also updated in -current... have you updated that as well? (it's blacklisted by default, but shouldn't be blacklisted if you are going to run -current)

it's related to the new aalib package i have tested with a aalib package rebuilt with the fedora patch, and mplayer work, i have same problem that you, with the package without this patch.

i use http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackwar...rc5-i486-4.txz package

and it's the good package for this slack-current version.

I don't think tht this is true at all. In the best case scenario updating aaa elflib will take no effect but in the worst case it will break up everything. All libs contained in aaa should be also in other packages and get updated from here

True Celyr, except that, sometimes in -current, the update is needed until some other packages get updated. no idea if that is what's happening here as my -current is running fine, mplayer and all.

The aalib issues should be fixed now in some updates that just went up. Thanks for the patch, gmgf.
