Last update broke google chrome
I updated yesterday (slackpkg upgrade-all). I think there were two updated packages but I can't remember what they were.
Now an old problem I remember having with chrome some time ago (under a different distro) has reappeared - in chrome the cursor hover function (changing cursor icon for links, text etc) doesn't work, and worse still I can't select text from webpages at all. The first issue is surprisingly difficult to live with; the second makes it effectively impossible to use the program for me. I have reinstalled chrome, but the problem remains. I even installed chromium instead, but experienced the same with that. I assume it's something to do with flash? I can't find a flash package searching with slackpkg, or i'd try reinstalling that. Any ideas anyone, on what went wrong and/or how to solve it? Thanks in advance spoov |
you can always look for the Changelog to see detailed changes
as for Chrome, try to load the application from terminal and see if there's an error message that might lead to the problem |
Lots of error messages -
Code:
spoovy@poppy-slackware:~:[502]$ google-chrome Changelog didn't say anything relevant. Anyone? |
Seems like it was solved by installing murrine. Can't imagine how that worked but nvr mind, it did!
