larger letters for the menu headings in Opera?

Hello!

I wonder if there is a way to make the menu heading in the Opera-9.24 web browser a bit larger. Currently the letters for the File, Edit, View, etc. menus are too small.
I tried setting the font size in Preferences, but no result.

Regards,
Martin

You need to find "fonts" under the "advanced" tab in perferences. You can specify font size and type for most anything. I like Nimbus Sans L.

I did that but it seems to affect all other font sizes with the exception of what I need. I need larger letters when I click on the "File" menu for instance. Regardless of what font size I set in the advanced tab in preferences, that font size of this menu remains unchanged .

You can try this, to '~/.gtkrc-2.0' add:

Code:
gtk-font-name="Lucida Sans 14"
this changes font for all gtk-2.0 apps, tho. Not sure if that's the best solution.

This made no difference too. Probably because Opera is a qt application?

Is it qt ? I don't really know (I use FF, which is gtk based). If it is qt-based, changing the qt setting may affect it.

From where did you download your copy of Opera?
I've had trouble with packages I've downloaded from everywhere but directly from the Opera web site.
Sounds like you have already tried this, but I just changed my font size by going to, Tools, Preferences, Advanced, Fonts,
and then changing, browser menus, browser toolbars, browser dialogs, browser panels.

Problem solved! Really I had to play a bit more with the preferences fonts options. I did not realize they have to be tweaked each one separately. Anyway, thank you for your help!

Regards, Martin.
