Thumbs up KVIrc has a Slackware package at the top of their list...

I'm elated when I see software download pages that include a binary Slackware package.

wrt KVIrc, their Slackware package is at the top of their list of binaries.

They've got an rpm too, but it's SuSE, not Redhat - I found that to be pretty kewl too.

I wonder if they're Slackers... hm...

Well, that having been said, there's also a SlackBuild for it at the repository.

I'm going to give this client a spin and see how I like it.

Here's the URL:

UPDATE: The mirrors I checked are reporting 404 errors... bummer.

I built KVirc 4.0.2 using the build script at SBo. Very nice indeed. First rate!

Yes I've been playing with KVIrc for some time now and must admit it has some very nice features, (like avatar display in user listings), that I've never seen before. I still prefer Xchat for a number of reasons, (basically I like the display better), but I am still in the process of customizing KVIrc to suite with themes and what have you. Nice to see them supplying a Slackware package - I built mine so I didn't know about this. It certainly a nice package and I may yet prefer it to XChat - just not at the moment - old habits die hard.

kvirc, slackware
