On my setup I use lpr.

According to this, kprinter is a command for configuring a printer, not for sending a print job.
Must say, I've used KDE and KDE applications off and on for years, but this was a new one on me. I usually go right to CUPS. |

If I remember correctly one can also use options in the xpdf print command field such as "lpr -P <printername>". At least that's the way it works for me in Slackware64 14.0. Maybe it has changed in 14.1 and -current. I don't use KDE so perhaps I've completely misunderstood the objective in this thread. (Print from xpdf right?) EDIT: I misunderstood frankbell's reply. I should have worded this post differently. |
lpr is not as good as kprinter
last one show you standart kde printing dialog before print - you can chhose layot, double side options and so on - very handy. |
