Kongoni LINUX
I saw this one on the Distrowatch.com, it claims that it can install software from binary with a new outfit called porting, I never have used slackware, be nice if one of you could explain the whole thing, for example does this mean one can down load binary and have it installed by the so called porting, this one claims just down load the binary and that is it, it well install and fetch the dependencies as well! Hard to believe!
Thanks |
Welcome to the official Slackware forum, kujirasan. :)
We can help you if you have a Slackware question. Are you interested in installing Slackware? |
You can read about it at the kongoni site. It's an adaptation of *BSD's ports system with a GUI.

Kongoni uses the Portpkg system.

IMHO, SlackBuilds.org, which is somewhat like a ports system, provides the maximum possible "Slackwareness" for third-party applications.
|
looks like they're only using free, non restricted software, ala gnewsense....not my thing....:D

Thank you all for the in put, and much appreciated!
I did look at it slackware long ago, however; because I am not well versed in the C Language etc, I ended up with an distros! Slackwareis definitely the real linux! |
