Kmix on desktop

Fresh install of Slack 9.1. Using KDE as desktop. About every other time I login to KDE, Kmix starts up and shows up on the desktop after KDE is finished loading. And I know it wasn't running when I shut down KDE during the previous session. Anybody have a clue why this is happening?

I believe with the default install of KDE, it attempts to restore the previous desktop you had when you shut down (or logged off of) KDE. I had somewhat unpredictable results with this setting as well. Apps that I knew I had shut down BEFORE logging out of KDE were somehow magically reappearing the next time I logged on. To change this behavior, use the Control Panel | KDE Components | Session Manager. From that screen you can tell KDE not to remember any settings or load a predefined list of settings that you've chosen and saved.
