I have set up Kmail for my Yahoo account correctly as far as I can see but when I try to get it to collect mail I get the error message:
'Could not connect to host localhost'
All help gratefully received!
Thanks - not what I wanted to hear but better than yet another evening trying to 'fix' something that cannot be done (like the time I tried to 'fix' the scanner software when the cable had come loose! - but that's another story)
Actually, there are several projects on Sourceforge that will automatically collect mail from hotmail/yahoo accounts and simulate a POP server that you can access with Kmail, Mozilla/Thunderbird, etc.
Try searching for terms like 'pop', 'hotmail', 'yahoo'
I use yahoo mail w/ KMail and Opera, and it works just fine. I know that it works for my yahoo australia acount anyway, but it should all be the same, neh? The pop is pop.mail.yahoo.com, and I have to use cox's smtp (smtp.central.cox.net).
