Klinux 2.0 (slack 9.1 derivative) won't run via tech vt6102 nic

There doesn't seem to be a topic for it yet, so it's here. I'm using Klinux, the old arabic version that's based on Slack 9.1. If anyone hasn't used it before, Klinux is a distro to run from a Windows partition (i.e., pain in the butt!). My problem is that it doesn't seem to want to utilize my nic (via tech vt6102 [rhine ii]). when I run lspci, it shows up just fine, but when I attempt to use netconfig, eth0 won't show up (netconfig runs as if it's still configuring a connection, but the connection doesn't actually show up after you run netconfig). I tried running rc.modules, but it isn't coming up with any modules that weren't already in the kernel and running. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
