Hello
I am trying to install Slackware 9 on my Dell 8250, but right after I boot the cd and press enter I come to the keyboard mapping part that says just hit enter if its a U.S keyboard, so I hit enter and nothing happens, the keyboard is completely dead.

I then try a different keyboard and I get the same thing(both keyboards work on other o.s'es on the computer) so I am at a lost. I have looked in my bios settings but nothing jumped out at me saying conflict.

I also would just like to know if Slackware is right on a P4 2.8 running 512 RDRAM, is it geared for this type of hardware? or is this a silly question?

Well I figured out the problem, here is what I did.

F2 and start up into BIOS setup
Enter Integrated Devices (Legacy Select Options)
USB Emulator =ON
USB Controller =ON

I turned them both to OFF and was able to get my keyboard working, which by the way was connected to a ps/2 port(GO figure).
