keyboard volume controls not working in xfce 4.6

Robby Workman helped me solve my power-manager problem, now here is one more oddity.

If I use a fresh .config for xfce4.6 my keyboard volume controls do not work (although things like increasing and decreasing screen brightness do work). If I go back to my old .config directory, the keyboard volume controls work again. I've been poking around in that directory to see what could be causing this, but can't find what it could be.

This should help, I think.

That did point me in the right direction. In the xfce settings gui, under Window Manager/Keyboard there was no listing for volume control. Nor did I find anywhere in the gui a way to set the keyboard.

What I did to fix it was to copy my old .config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts.xml into the new .config directory, and that fixed it all up.

I had these keys set in .Xmodmap, and the prior version of xfce seemed to pick it up automatically (?), or I may be not remembering properly.

Thanks,
Brian

That was helpful, but this explains it better:
