keyboard falling asleep

I didnt really know where to post this to but I figure I run slackware so why not post it in the slack forum. Anyway, after ugrading my kernel to 2.6 and now 2.6.1 I have a problem with my usb keyboard seeming to fall asleep. All it takes to wake it back up is to hit a key and then I can start typing. I know this isnt a huge problem but it is kind of annoying because I just start typing, I dont think about first having to wake up the keyboard and then type. This never once happened to me when running the 2.4 kernels.
