Question kernel usb error -71 and system freeze

Hi,

I got this error today in Slackware 13.1 leading to a full freeze.

Code:
Sep 20 14:08:47 mdarkstar kernel: drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-core.c: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1.3/input0, status -71
Sep 20 14:08:47 mdarkstar kernel: drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-core.c: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1.4/input0, status -71
Sep 20 14:08:47 mdarkstar kernel: usb 2-1.1: clear tt 3 (0060) error -71
Sep 20 14:08:47 mdarkstar kernel: usb 2-1.1: clear tt 4 (0070) error -71

Sep 20 14:09:04 mdarkstar kernel: drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-core.c: can't reset device, 0000:00:1d.0-1.1.3/input0, status -108
Sep 20 14:09:04 mdarkstar kernel: usb 2-1.1: clear tt 3 (0090) error -19
My USB devices (keyboard and mouse) are connected to a monitor and the monitor to the pc.

Any idea what may cause the problem or how to avoid it?

Thanks,
Carlos.

I'm pretty sure the -71 means the device disappeared. You can try disabling autosuspend:
Code:
echo -1 >/sys/module/usbcore/parameters/autosuspend
That's usually the cause of these errors.
