Kernel Upgrade

I just did a fresh install of slackware on a new pc and tried upgrading the kernel to 2.6.11.2

I followed the upgrade kernel guide for 2.6.0 (which is sticky) and after i did all the steps and rebooted it booted a black screen.

I checked the /boot and saw that no new files were made there. I edited makefile correctly but still nothing was copied.

Is there any other way, for example i know you can manually copy the files after your compile them. Is there any faq like this ?

Usually you get a blank screen when you compile the wrong framebuffer options, try changing to vga=normal in lilo.conf and apply the changes running lilo.

You have to copy the new kernel to /boot.
After your kernel is finished compiling do:

Code:
cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/bzImage-2.6.11
Edit /etc/lilo.conf to point to this new file (/boot/bzImage-2.6.11), and run 'lilo' to update lilo.

I did that and now lilo displays the following error upon boot;

Loading Linux EBDA is big; kernel setup stack overlaps lilo second stage
