Kernel panic: VFS: cannot mount root fs on unknown-block
Searched, but nobody was trying to use the install disks as root disks.
Long story short: I'm going to dual boot on an existing sata raid 0 array. Stupid? Yes. But also a challenge.
What I'm currently getting is the message in the title when I try to boot my new 2.6 kernel. I'm not sure how to point it to the install.1 and install.2 root disks for Slackware 10.2 - tried initrd=foo and root=/dev/fd0, but those was probably the wrong things. I need either these disks or the CD because I still need to install to the HDDs.
I'm using syslinux for the boot loader. I've got umsdos, ext2, ext3 and vfat support in the kernel I'm using, so it's not anything like that. SATA and DM are built in, no modules. Just need to know how to point syslinux at these two floppies.
TIA
