Kernel files

I'm curious. When I upgrade to the 2.6.* series kernels do I also need to download and install the files listed here? (the kernel modules, headers, and ide files). These files seem to be for the 2.4.* kernels though, where are the 2.6.* equivalents? Or do I not need the header, modules, and ide files?

You don't need those files, the 2.4 ones are fine.

OK, from what I understand I just need module-init-tools before I install a kernel.
