Kernel 2.6.4 -- no USB mouse

Help! Please! I'm now surfing from Lynx because my mouse doesn't want me to use it after I installed kernel 2.6.4 . Also I would like to know where the hell is the file that tells the modules to load. Help me or I'll go crazy.

You're sure you included USB support in the kernel? If yes, then the file you're looking for is /etc/modprobe.conf.
