What do you want to work around?
Removing stuff depends on how it was installed. Most stuff that came with Slackware and things you have installed as Slackware packages can be removed using
Code:
# pkgtool
If you've built the software from source you can eighter try
Code:
# make uninstall
from the source directory, or if the uninstall is not included, you will have to hunt down the stuff yourself.

look in '/var/log/packages'. 'removepkg' anything you don't need.
