Kdevelop question

I know that some of you might think this belongs in the Programming forum, but it's not a programming question at all.
I installed Slack 9.1 with a full install and I just recently got into C++. but when I use Kdevelop 3.1.4 (gideon) as a regular user it won't build anything. It seems like the build button is dead. I was thinking about going through Kdevelops web site and downloading and compiling the latest version. I wanted to come here first to see if anyone had this problem, maybe its a permissions error. I also loaded gideon from xterm to see the standard output, looks normal to me.

Thanks for the help
A dedicated Slacker

It could just be your code is fubar?

Go to the Project menu and start a new project, choose C++ then do the hello world app. Fill in the info until your finished with the wizard. Then just hit the compile and see if it works.

thats what I did. Is there anything that happens when you hit the build button (output?). I also went to www.kdevelop.org and downloaded the source tarball and compiled and installed it. Still nothing. Anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks
