As I said, I couldn't get Kopete to work in 4.1.1, so I tried Psi as I prefer to use GoogleTalk/Jabber.
It wouldn't work either and it would appear that KDE4.1.1 can't find the qca-tls plugin, and, yes, it is installed.
Think I'll wait a few months and then give 4.x another look.

I've loved KDE as my interface since i started using Linux. After trying KDE4 i finally begrudgingly switched over to Gnome and added an icon for Konqueror to the interface.

...or you could stick with KDE3.5, ie the interface you 'loved'? You know, the one that's still used by most distros and is still included with Slackware? Just because KDE4 is new doesn't mean you HAVE to switch right now.
