KDE Screensaver Problem
Ok, I know this has probably been answered previously, but I was unsuccessful in locating an answer in my allocated timeframe.
I recently upgraded to kernel 2.6.13, and now the KDE Screensavers won't kick in after being idle after the specified time. I checked out the settings and it was all still correct and tested the screensaver and it loads. Also, I can still click the lock screen button and it will do as I am expecting it to. Can anyone guide me as to what is going wrong? |
Does the screen go blank when the timeout period elapses?

Well, I had a problem while back where certain screensavers that come in the xscreensavers package wouldn't work. But I don't think ALL of my screensavers wouldn't work.
Is it certain ones? Or all? |
No screensaver is even remotely activated, as far as I can tell. I set it to lock (password) the screen after 5 minutes, but even after 3 hours, I can sit down and work without having to unlock it. No screensaver. No locking. Seems like nothings happening after I leave the computer.

There should be a watchdog process running in the background. Check 'ps' to see if you see a screensaver process running and let me know if one is present. If it isn't there, try manually invoking it via 'xscreensaver.'

well one option you could resort to is downloading the xscreensaver package from http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/ and disabling your kde screensaver. I have had success with this. Actually, i had to do this b/c the KDE screensavers wouldn't recognize my power options where the xscreensaver i installed would
