KDE screen flipped after Slack 14.0 upgrade

Hi,

I just completed the upgrade from 13.37 to 14.0 32bit and started KDE 4.8.5 and... the screen is flipped around horizontal axes. Meaning that text is still from left to right but upside down. Does anybody have an idea how to fix it? KDE starts OK and while the loading icons appear, on the third icon, the screen is flipped. Absolutely hilarious but is there a fix?

XFCE, Fluxbox, Blackbox, WindowMaker, FVWM are all OK but KDE...

This behaviour seems to be related to using certain versions of the proprietary Nvidia driver. Have you installed the latest Nvidia driver for your card? See http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

Yeah, I've seen that. If I recall correctly, you can also log into KDE's 'safe mode', disable compositing and then log in as usual - with the caveat that you will no longer have compositing. I'm pretty sure you'll need to fix your NVidia drivers to get everything working again.

And, yes, it is hilarious.

Indeed replacing Nouveau with NVidia driver fixed the issue.
