Unhappy KDE: screen fades to black too quickly, does not obey system settings

Whenever idle from user input in KDE, in about a minute the screen fades to black, regardless of what settings I have on screensaver/power saving settings. This is very annoying when I'm watching youtube videos for example;

Surprisingly, when I watch a movie on MPlayer this doesn't happen.

I'm using 14.0 with a NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (proprietary drivers) and a Samsung SMB2230 monitor.

Perhaps some DPMS setting? You can find more here. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...ment_Signaling
