First.. sorry about the english, not my native language.
I have two sound cards. Onboard intel and HDMI NVidia vga/audio card.
KDE multimedia settings shows HDMI as default device. In this setting my speakers (connected to onboard) still works but, no sound from front panel (where i connect my headphones). Multimedia settings allow me to switch from hdmi to "default built in device" (on board). While using default built in device i am able to choose between line (my speakers) or headphones (frontal panel). problem is, nothing of this survives a reboot. And when i plug the headphones i have to manually select them. So.. how to make de changes in KDE gui survive a reboot and have simultaneous output to line and front panel.

I haven't played with sound enough on 14.2 yet, but have you tried pavucontrol? It's pulseaudio's native volume controller, and I believe it allows you to set the primary audio device (and it should survive reboots).
I had similar problems with KMix when I connected my speakers, smart tv, and headphones. With KMix I was unable to configure as I needed. pavucontrol fixed everything quickly.
sorry the delay. pavucontrol only shows hdmi device (onboard sound not listed on the dropdown menu). also tried paprefs to create a virtual device for simultaneous playback on all devices. so far no results. Thank you for your time.
following another forums i removed ~/.config/pulse (leaving only the systemwide /etc/pulse/) now on pavucontrol i have both hdmi and built in audio device (output tab). but.. in the built in audio device i still have to choose between line and headphones (front panel)
