KDE lockup after kernel upgrade


kde is locking up after i upgraded the kernel to 2.6.12.2 i can move the mouse for a bit but it locks up after a certain part, i guess when the spash screen is suppose to show up.

Well, what's the error after returning to the prompt? Are you using framebuffer?

yes i am using frame buffer and i cant get back to prompt after trying to startx

ctrl + alt + backspace kills X; tried that?

Also, i'm not familiar with framebuffers, but I think that might help you...have you tried vga=normal?

Try a few, and check for error messages.

nope ctrl + alt + backspace doesnt work.
